Timing a sale around the season isn't a gimmick here — Cape Cod's population and buyer pool genuinely shift with the calendar, and pricing follows.
Spring — The Best Window for Almost Everything
Late March through May is when serious buyers are actively looking, before the summer rush pushes prices up on rentals and before inventory floods in June. Convertibles and anything beach-adjacent see real demand starting here.
Summer — High Traffic, More Competition
The Cape's population multiplies in summer, which means more buyers but also more sellers listing at the same time. Convertibles and SUVs still move well; ordinary sedans compete against a much bigger pool of similar listings.
Fall — The Practical Window
Buyers shopping in September and October tend to be serious, year-round residents rather than tourists, and they're often specifically looking for something capable before winter — which is exactly why SUVs and AWD vehicles see a real bump here.
Winter — Slowest, But Not Dead
Fewer buyers, but also far less competing inventory. A well-priced, well-documented listing can still move in winter, just more slowly and to a smaller pool.
The Exception to All of This
A correctly priced, well-photographed car sells reasonably well in any season. Timing helps at the margins. Pricing and presentation still do most of the work.
